BIOGRAPHY
George Banos is a Greek violinist based in Berlin. Born in Athens in 1999, he began violin studies at an early age before continuing his training in Austria at the Innsbruck Landeskonservatorium with Christos Kanettis, and later in Vienna at the J.S. Bach Musikschule under Lucia Hall. In 2023, he completed his Bachelor's degree at the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin, studying with Mihaela Martin and Michael Barenboim, and since March 2025 has been pursuing the Master Solo course at the Hochschule Carl Maria von Weber Dresden with Natalia Prishepenko. He was awarded a scholarship for a year of lessons with Leonidas Kavakos through the Leonidas Kavakos International Masterclasses, and has also taken part in masterclasses with Daniel Barenboim and Sir AndrĂ¡s Schiff. He is also the recipient of the Ismene Carter Violin Scholarship (2025). His awards include first prizes at the Greek National Competitions "PHILON" and "Maria Chairogiorgou-Sigara," and Austria's "Prima la Musica." He performs regularly as a soloist across Greece and Europe, with recent appearances including a solo recital and a performance alongside the Athens State Orchestra, both at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron).
